1.Communications, Branding & Advocacy Across Ethiopia and Africa
With experience working across 56 locations in Ethiopia and six African countries, our work is rooted in understanding communities, amplifying authentic voices, and creating communication strategies that reflect real local contexts.
Through extensive travel and engagement across Ethiopia’s diverse regions, we have developed strong expertise.
Project 2:
Core trainer and coach – Strengthening Visibility for Local NGOs- Women’s Voice and Leadership Project with Global Affairs Canada & Plan International Ethiopia
Local NGOs across Ethiopia are creating meaningful and measurable change within their communities. However, many organizations face challenges in external communication, visibility, and media engagement, limiting opportunities for greater recognition, partnerships, and impact.
One challenge I observed repeatedly is a cultural hesitation around self-promotion.
This mindset often exists even at the organizational level, making it difficult for impactful local work to gain the visibility it deserves.
As part of the Women’s Voice and Leadership Project, implemented by Global Affairs Canada and Plan International Ethiopia, we supported local women-led organizations in strengthening:
- Communications strategies
- Media engagement
- Storytelling approaches
- Organizational visibility
- Engaged with more than 46 local women’s organizations
- Closely coached 6 organizations on communications and visibility
- Co-created a communications and media engagement training module
- Supported translation of training materials into local languages alongside fellow trainers and coaches
This experience reinforced our belief that in today’s era of localization and digital communication, visibility is not optional, it is essential for sustainable impact.
